Eddie Johnson on 2018 World Cup: Ill be there.

Eddie Johnson of D.C. United made an appearance on Baumann & Big Joe on CBS Sports Radio Orlando and said, "They say with age, the game slows down because you're more mature," Johnson told B&BJ. "I'll be there in 2018."

After enjoying a career-year with the 2013 USMNT, Johnson, 30, was one of the surprise snubs by head coach Jurgen Klinsmann this year. "It was a very difficult decision," Klinsmann said at the time.

Originally from Bunnell, FL, Johnson said he's fully committed to D.C. United, however, left the door open to eventually playing for the new Orlando City MLS franchise in the future. "I wouldn't rule Florida out before my retirement," Johnson said. "I wear Florida on my sleeve."

Johnson, a member of the 2006 World Cup USMNT, said he always envisioned the Sunshine State as a soccer haven. "It's growing year after year," he said.
